Louisa Krause is an American actress. She is best known for appearing in the lead role of Anna Garner in the television series The Girl Experience (2017). She performed her first film role in the Babysitters (2007) where she played Brenda Woodberg. Krause studied drama in college, before appearing in many off-Broadway productions while also playing in episodes of New York-based network TV series.


Her father is of half-Japanese origin and her mother is American. Her younger brother, Nathaniel, is a director. She found her interest in the arts at a young age by studying dance at the Washington School of Ballet in Washington, D.C.
Once she entered high school, dance took a back seat when she started performing in Bill Russell’s and Henry Krieger’s variety of plays and musicals, including Side Show as Violet Hilton. After high school, she joined the Carnegie Mellon Drama School.
Shortly after, Krause felt she was ready to begin her professional acting career. She earned her Equity card by performing in a musical-based production of Aida.
Louisa Krause began her career in the theatre. In 2006, she appeared in the Huntington Theatre Company’s production. In 2007, she starred as Iphigenia in the Signature Theatre Company’s production of Iphigenia 2. o.
Also in 2007, Krause starred in the world premiere of In a Dark Dark House. She continued working on stage, appeared in 2013 as Rose in the world premiere of Annie Baker’s The Flick at Playwrights Horizons. She reprised her role two years later for a second run at the Barrow Street Theatre and later the National Theatre.
Louisa Krause gained more prominence with a role in the feature film Young Adult in 2011. She also made an appearance as a cult member in the film Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011).
